For the last few years I have made fabric gift bags, and have now got many different colours and styles.
Here are few ideas on the different styles you can do, and fabrics that work. Best to go for a non directional printed and not too large, unless of course the bag is large.
Tartan works well for Christmas. Drawstring various styles, one as part of the bag, and the other with tops attached, final one is a pop over top, with a snap to keep it closed.
More drawstring, but making the fabric go further with some plain fabrics, and also red cotton. I made these during lockdown and had the fabric delivered by MK market and then used bits and bobs that I already had.
Cream ones are napkins and this one has a top, the other is a pillowcase, and a button hole added for drawstring and top turned.
Final couple of ideas, a cushion cover with a handle added, and silver printed cotton curtains with top turned and snap added.
